SCLL 2020 BB/SB Season is Canceled

SCLL Players and Families

This weekend the SCLL Board made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of upper division baseball and softball for the 2020 season.
While it’s likely that it doesn’t come as a great surprise, it’s a disappointing outcome that we were hoping to avoid. There are two reasons for this:

1. While King County has moved to Phase 1.5 of their Safe Start plan, our fields which are managed and reserved via of the City of Seattle Parks Department, have been canceled through the end June.

2. Our friends and competitors in the Rainier District are in a similar situation, and elected to cancel their season in full last week. This means that even if we could begin practices this month as previously communicated, we are limited in games and competition moving forward.

Credit to the 2021 Season and donations

As we announced in May, we will credit 100% your registration fees this season toward the 2021 season. For those of you that are aging out of Little League play and need to request a refund, please contact our wonderful registrar Angie Valenta for assistance: [email protected]

For those that kindly offered to donate their 2020 registration fees to the league I want to say a very special thank you! If this is of interest to you, please also let Angie and myself know so we can accurately account for this in our operations budget for 2021.

The last few months have been filled with much uncertainty, and while I know that we would love to play ball this season, the safety of our players and community is paramount. Please continue to stay safe and reduce the number of COVID-19 cases so that we can return to play in full next March.

In the meantime, thank you for your patience and support and as always, Go Central!
