First and foremost, we hope that you and your families are safe and healthy.
Second, we are planning on a 2021 SCLL baseball and softball season that will begin in early April and run through June. Registration for the 2021 season will open by the end of January.
A Safe Return to Play
For the last several months the SCLL Board has been working on a safe return to play plan for the 2021 season. This work will continue throughout the season.
We’ve created an expanded SCLL safety team led by our Safety Officer Steven King and made up of several medical and infectious disease professionals including Mary King and Chia Wang (SCLL Board Members) to review local and national data as well as review and incorporate guidelines from local, state, and federal health officials.
The SCLL Board will meet next week to put this plan in action, and communicate it to you via email and our website. We very much anticipate that our plans will evolve throughout the season, though we will require the use of masks by all players and athletes throughout the season. In addition the sharing of gear will be prohibited at all levels.
Currently, we are targeting early April as our season start. This is later than we normally start, but after consulting with medical experts and other local leagues, we believe that this is the safest approach to the season.
Little League is planning on a regular All-Star Tournament season, so this means that our kid pitch seasons would need to wrap up by the end of June. In addition, we’re exploring fun alternative options for T-Ball play that will reduce contact while keeping games fun for all.
We plan to have registrations open by the end of January. This is later than we normally open registrations, but we are finalizing some changes related to COVID-19.

Look forward to communicating with you and getting the 2021 SCLL season underway in April.
